Install Hostiz on your phone
Add Hostiz to your home screen. Takes five seconds, works on any phone, no app store.
iPhone or iPad (Safari)
Safari has no install button, so you add Hostiz from the Share menu. It takes about five seconds.
Tap the Share button
In Safari, tap the share icon (a square with an up arrow) at the bottom of the screen.
Choose “Add to Home Screen”
Scroll down the share sheet and pick Add to Home Screen.
Tap Add
Hostiz appears on your home screen and opens like any other app.
iPhone using Chrome
Same as Safari, except Chrome's share button is at the top of the screen.
Tap the Share button
In Chrome, tap the share icon at the top right of the address bar.
Choose “Add to Home Screen”
Pick Add to Home Screen from the share menu.
Tap Add
Hostiz appears on your home screen and opens like any other app.
Android
Chrome often offers to install Hostiz by itself. If it doesn't, use the browser menu.
Open the menu
In Chrome, tap the three-dot menu at the top right.
Tap “Install app”
Some versions of Chrome call it “Add to Home screen”.
Confirm
Hostiz is added to your home screen.
Windows or Mac
Run Hostiz in its own window, handy on the laptop at the venue desk.
Use Chrome or Edge
Most other desktop browsers can't install web apps yet.
Click the install icon
It's at the right end of the address bar. Or open the browser menu and choose Install.

Click Install. Hostiz opens in its own window.
Opened this from Facebook, Instagram or Messenger?
Those apps open links in their own built-in browser, which can't install anything. Move to Safari or Chrome first. It's the most common reason install doesn't work.
Open in Safari or Chrome
Tap the “…” or share button, then choose Open in Safari or Open in Chrome.

Come back to this page in Safari or Chrome and follow the steps for your phone.

Questions about installing
Is this a real app?
It installs to your home screen with its own icon and opens full screen, without the address bar. It comes straight from our website instead of an app store, which is why it installs in seconds.
Do I need the App Store or Google Play?
No. Hostiz isn't in either store, so you don't need an Apple ID or a Google account. Follow the steps for your device above.
Does it cost anything?
No. Installing is free, and it's the same Hostiz you use in the browser.
Do I need an internet connection?
Yes. Sessions, RSVPs and check-ins are live, so Hostiz needs a connection. It won't work in flight mode.
Will my account and groups carry over?
Yes. Sign in with the same email or Google account and your groups, sessions and match history are all there.
How do I remove it?
Delete the icon like any other app. On iPhone, press and hold it and choose Remove App. On Android, press and hold and choose Uninstall. Your account isn't affected.
